The committee of Management, the CEO, the Care Staff, the House and Gardening staff welcome you to Benhome, we trust you will be happy in this clean, safe, comfortable and caring environment. This is now your home and we will endeavour to make your time with us very happy and fulfilling. To help you become accustomed to your new environment we have outlined some of the things which may affect you, as well as general information of which you will need to be aware of. We hope your days will be full of interest here at Benhome and that you will make many new friendships. Your family may be assured that you are given the best of care.

Meal Times

Breakfast: 8.30am Dinner: 12.00 noon Tea: 5.00pm

If you are ill as determined by Care Staff, a tray will be provided to your room. Facilities for tea and coffee making are available in all lounges of each wing. Family members or friends visiting a resident of Benhome are able to purchase a meal from the kitchen also.

Health Care

All residents' health needs are under the supervision of the Care Supervisor and are carried out by Benhome's Care Staff. You may have your choice of Doctor whilst at Benhome. Vital Call buttons are located in each room and in various positions throughout the Benhome complex. Medical appointments can be arranged through the Care Staff also.

Resident's Meetings

The residents hold a meeting bi monthly in the dining room. Any matters of concern or any suggestions are brought to notice during these meetings.

Furniture

Residents are encouraged to bring furniture from home to make their room more home like, however there are some restrictions including:
- No rugs allowed.
- All furniture brought must be approved by the CEO prior to placing in the room.
- All electrical items must be tested and tagged by the appropriate authority.
- Electric blankets are not permitted.
- There must be ample room for both staff and the resident in the room.
